Wanna Get Away

The elementary school’s gym was filled with artist showcasing their latest creations. Potential buyers were casually viewing each artist’s work, to see which pieces were appealing enough to come home with them. Creators and collectors were mingling amongst themselves, each telling their story behind what inspired them to create such a desirable masterpiece. As you can hear the hum of voices throughout the gym, there was loud crash. The place that once was filled with chitter chatter now became completely quiet. Everyone’s head turned in the direction of the crashing noise. There I was standing there with a blank look on my face. With my camera across my shoulder, I looked down at the precious piece of artwork I accidently backed into and knocked down. All I could think about at that moment was that South West Airlines Commercial (WANNA GET AWAY). The artist, Annette “Malika” Jackson of Chicago, was gracious enough to forgive me for causing one of her pieces to plummet to the ground and break in two. What a way to spend a Saturday afternoon. I hope she’s able to fix it. Here is the piece that fell along with some of her other amazing collections.
